I want my bed back now, thank you.
We have always co-slept. We didn't plan to, it just worked out that way. For the first 3 years, it was fine. We had brief periods of time where he would sleep in his own room, but eventually would end up back with us.
The last 6 mos or so, I have been trying to get W. out of our room and into his own. Unfortunately, DH is not helping. You might have seen an article a while back, where someone did some research and concluded that kids should co-sleep until age 5. Well, now DH doesn't think we should push him to leave our bed! ARGH!
I can't sleep anymore. I have 3 y/o feet in my back! He tosses and turns, or decides he likes my pillow better than his, and I have a little face breathing in mine in the middle of the night.
The latest, was that I was ready to let him 'cry it out' in his room to try to get him to sleep in there again. DH decided we should let him go to sleep in our bed and then move him to his bed. Great. Except that half the time, I'm asleep before W. is, so I end up not moving him.
I want to get him a big bed instead of a toddler bed. My theory being that we could lay on his bed and read him books, and then leave. DH isn't going for it yet. I've told him its happening when he's 4, I'm hoping sooner.
Part of the problem is that W. has a fear of shadows in his room. Even though he knows they are just shadows. He doesn't like going in his room at night. I personally think he's using it as an excuse, but it may be real.
Anyway, I'm stuck. Until DH gets on board, I don't see this ending anytime soon. Although, we're giving up naps, so he may be so tired at night that he will fall asleep in his own bed.

I know what you mean...I'd be a walking zombie every single day if one or mine slept with us. It's bad enough with just DH! Good luck on trying to find a solution that works for you all.
Gayle, I sooo hear ya'! I think Peter would sleep soo much better if he had his own big bed. There's not enough room to toss & turn in the toddler bed. And I do the same thing, let him fall asleep in our bed and half the time we fall asleep and don't bother moving him.
