Painting

I've finally taken on the project of painting the inside of the house. I'm sort of enjoying it, although I'm sure it will get old before I'm done. DH isn't inclined to take on these kind of projects, so I'm on my own at least until I get to the ceiling.
I've already run into my first problem. I painted a small test wall above the mantle. We decided on the color, and then bought a bunch more paint while it was on sale at Home Depot. Yesterday, I painted the big wall in the living room. I really like the color, the only problem is that it doesn't look like the first wall. After considering all of the alternatives, we've decided its just an optical illusion. Unfortunately, I really don't like looking at it, so I guess I'll be painting it the 'other' color, whatever we decide that will be.
Yesterday I moved couches. Next the piano, then the big bookcases... the prep is the worst part!
My goal is to save enough money doing the painting myself, so that we can afford new flooring! Preferably engineered hardwood floors. Hopefully, within the next year.
